Battlefield 3: Closed Alpha Trial + Official PC System Requirements

Every since EA (Electronic Arts) announced Battlefield 3, millions of people have been on edge trying to get their hands on any information or details about this highly anticipated game. One of the most sought after questions is the exact system requirements for their PC’s to run this game smoothly. For the past four months, there have been many speculations and rumors towards the exact system requirements, but it isn’t until now that DICE has officially announced them in a post about the Battlefield 3 Alpha stage testing trial. Although vague, here are the official Battlefield 3 system requirements for PC:

But enough about the system requirements, let’s get to the Alpha trial. The Alpha trial has started, that would be a phase during the evolution of first-person shooter, in that DICE will be testing the server load and the overall technical infrastructure of the game to insure that it will be solid come time for release which is set for October of this year. So you are probably thinking right now, how do I sign up to be apart of the trial? Well, the answer is simple. DICE has some pretty strict guidelines that the average Joe doesn’t normally meet that are required to be invited into the Alpha trial.

Daniel Matros, left this message on the official Battlefield forums:
“Battlefield 3 Alpha Trial is set up only for testing purposes. Keys have been distributed to invited players through our veterans program and other key influences.”
That’s right, DICE is asking you to be of “Battlefield Veteran status” meaning that you must have an EA account on which at least three Battlefield games are registered. This includes three titles from the portfolio, Battlefield (PC), among others Battlefield 1942, Battlefield 2, Battlefield 2142 and Battlefield: Bad Company
2 and must sign up for their newsletter. All this just to test Battlefield 3? Some say it’s worth it, while some say otherwise. On the bright side, we now know the official system requirements for Battlefield 3 to run smoothly on our PC’s and with around three months left until release, that’s information we needed to know.
